HYDERABAD: Jeay Sindh Mahaz-Junejo (JSM-J) has strongly reacted to the criticism of veteran Sindhi nationalist leader G.M. Syed on the part of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro in his recent statement. It advised Mr Khuhro to restrict his criticism to his political opponents.
JSM-J leaders Abdul Khaliq Junejo, Hashim Khoso and Zahoor Leghari said in a statement issued here on Sunday that issues of power politics should be discussed accordingly. They reminded Mr Khuhro that G.M. Syed was the founder of ideological politics and had nothing to do with power politics. Therefore, he should not be dragged into this discourse, they said.
They recalled that [PPP founder chairman] Z.A. Bhutto had served as a minister in General Ayub Khan’s government for eight years and also remained associated with General Yahya Khan.
They also reminded G. M. Syed’s grandson and Sindh United Party (SUP) chief Jalal Mehmood Shah that the Syed was a critic of PPP because the party worked more for the federation than Sindh.
