Case against five people for killing pet dog

GUJRAT: Police have registered a case against five people, three brothers among them, for killing a pet dog of a woman belonging to Shah Faisal Gate area.

Nighat Yasmeen in her complaint to police alleged that she saw Malik Kashif, Malik Nadeem, Malik Saleem and two unidentified persons beating her dog with iron rods and knife and fled when she raised hue and cry.

The suspects, she said, were notorious drug peddlers of the area. She said she brought the dog to the city veterinary hospital for treatment on Feb 5 but it was closed due to holiday. She again brought the dog to the hospital the next day and doctors treated it but it succumbed to injuries on Feb 8.

The veterinarian also conducted an autopsy of the dog and the report had been dispatched to police for necessary action.

Police registered a case against five people under section 429 of the PPC on the report of the woman. They said the veterinarian had confirmed knife attack and two of the suspects had been arrested.

Animal abuse is so extreme in such cases. Penalties and punishment should be extreme as well. Humans were supposed to be better than this but we are worst then animals. When you beat a human being he can complain, fight back and report, but doing so to defenseless animal is just sick.

Highly Abhoring and very painful to read such cases of animal cruelty committed in broad daylight and with no deterrence to those committing such heinous crime from any quarter whatsoever. Realistically speaking pets for all practical purposes are a member of the family and displays unfathomable love to their masters, needs protection by all possible mean due to their vulnerability. These culprits probably high with drug use, extracted sadistic pleasure from this barbaric act, should not be left roaming on street no more. They need to undergo cold turkey treatment in prison, a very painful process for drug users craving for their daily drug dose and not getting it, producing constant shivering, severe head aches and profuse tearis coming out of the eyes. Let us hope the lady who lost her pet to these fiends get justice for this sudden, extremely painful violent and traumatic death of her loving pet happening in clear view and being unable to do anything to save him.
