KARACHI, July 3: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has condemned the registration of a farce and baseless FIR by Nasreen Jalil of the MQM against former City Nazim Niamatullah Khan and other MMA members at the Airport police station.

It said the police failed to register FIRs against killers but was prompt in registering FIRs for just raising slogans, which was a proof of victimization of political and ideological opponents and state-sponsored terrorism.

The MMA leaders of the Karachi chapter, Hafiz Muhammad Taqi, Maulana Khan Muhammad Rabbani, Allama Hasan Turabi, Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui and Maulana Yusuf Qasuri in a statement said that people indulging in terrorist acts were so much afraid of Mr Niamat that they were lodging false FIRs against him and his colleagues.

“The people of Karachi are well aware of those who have been indulging in politics of hatred, violence and victimization,” they remarked.

Those who were devoid of tolerance and unable to listen to their opponents’ point of view were so much aroused by a few slogans that they were making hue and cry over democratic traditions of slogan raising.

Meanwhile, commenting on the non-participation of religious and major political parties in the MQM’s so-called all-parties conference, a spokesman of the Jamaat-i-Islami has said that major political and religious parties had isolated the MQM.

They expressed their gratitude to the PPP, PML-N, PDP and other ARD compobebt parties, JUP, Tehreek-i-Insaf, JUI-F, JUI(S), PPI, Islami Tehreek and Jamiat Ahle Hadith for refusing to join hands with undemocratic organizations.
