PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has condemned the ‘killing’ of Pakhtun political worker and educationist Prof Arman Loni in Balochistan, and demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident.

In a statement issued from the party’s secretariat on Monday, he said the incident had created a sense of insecurity among Pakhtuns striving for their rights.

“We condemn the use of force against innocent protesters.” He said it was the right of every Pakistani to stage protest for his or her rights and nobody can deprive them of their rights enshrined in the Constitution.

Mr Sherpao said it was responsibility of the government to provide security to people. He said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government had failed in shouldering its responsibility in view of the rising targeted killing incidents.

He said an impartial inquiry should be conducted into the incident to establish the facts and bring to justice those found responsible for his death. He offered condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to Allah to grant courage to them to cope with the tragedy.
