LAHORE: The PPP has criticised the railways minister’s remarks against the party chairperson saying use of foul and abusive language has become trademark of Sheikh Rashid.

The party’s central deputy information secretary Munawar Anjum said the minister is trying to retain his slot in the federal cabinet by badmouthing PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Zardari.

Mr Rashid talking to the media during his visit to Okara on Sunday used derogatory language against the PPP top leaders, saying, “Bilawal is going to contest the case of his father (Asif Zardari), who is the main gutter of corruption in the country.”

Reacting to the statement, Mr Anjum says the railway minister’s name has become a symbol of foul and abusive language and that by speaking against the PPP leadership Sheikh Rashid was attempting to keep himself relevant for the government.

He regrets that people like Mr Rashid, Fawad Chaudhry and Fayyazul Hassan Chohan are “polluting the politics” just to remain in the power corridors.

Punjab PPP information secretary Hassan Murtaza has warned the railway minister that Jiyalas “may teach him a lesson” for speaking ill of their leadership.
