MIRAMSHAH: A tribal elder and his son were seriously injured in a roadside bomb blast near Mirali in North Waziristan tribal district on Wednesday.

Family sources said Malik Remal Khan along with his son was returning home after attending a jirga in Khaisur area. They said an improvised explosive device went off near his vehicle in Mursi Khel area.

Both received critical injuries and were shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Miramshah. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. This was the third blast in North Waziristan during the last three days.

Sources said Malik Remal had already survived two attacks.
