Pakistani teams for India

KARACHI, June 29: Three Pakistan teams including a women’s and a combined team of Karachi Bridge Association are due to leave for Ahmedabad, India on Thursday to feature in the July 2-4 Samachar Gujarat bridge tournament.

Meanwhile, Ozair’s team recorded an easy victory over Iqbal Abedi’s 25-3 on Tuesday in the first-ever one-day Suspense bridge tournament introduced by Karachi Bridge Association (KBA).

Ozair having in its fold Hamid Mohiuddin, Asghar Naqvi and Sami scored the easy win against Iqbal Abedi 25-3. Then they were given a tough time 16-14 by Mahmood Naqvi and beat Abbas-Anwer Gheewala 17-13 after a pitched battle.

However, in the fourth round they gathered full 25 victory points (VPs) against Mazhar No4. Ziaullah put up spirited fight in the last round but in the end they drew level sharing 30 VPs equally.

Ozair collected a total of 97 VPs to win the first ever Suspense bridge.—Agencies
