LAHORE: The Punjab government is conducting feasibility studies for the establishment of three new universities in the province, says Chief Minister Usman Buzdar while speaking to different delegations that called on him at his office on Wednesday.

He said the new universities would be established in northern, southern and central parts of the province. He said the PTI government had enhanced the education budget to Rs373 billion in the current financial year.

The chief minister said the government would focus on research and development in the higher education sector and it would be made compatible with the emerging challenges by best utilizing latest technology. “We will achieve targets set for the education sector to transform the education scenario in the province,” he said.

GOVERNOR: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar called on acting Governor Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi at Governor’s House on Wednesday and discussed different matters pertaining to Punjab Assembly and province.
