KHAR: Pak Army’s Sector Commander (North) Brig Raja Naeem Akbar on Monday said that Frontier Constabulary soldiers were the nation’s heroes as they had been playing a leading role in fighting militancy in the entire tribal districts.

He stated this while addressing the passing out parade of Bajaur Scouts cadets as the chief guest here.

He said security forces and local people had also played key role in eliminating militancy in the tribal districts, but sacrifices of FC in restoration of peace were above all,” said Brig Akbar.

The passing out parade was held at the Bajaur Scouts Training Academy, where 90 FC recruits completed their six-month-long basic course.

People from different walks of life, including elders, political and social activists and elders, were in attendance.

Deputy commissioner Usman Mehsud and Commandant Bajaur Scouts Col Rehman were was also present.

Not only the people of Bajaur, but also the entire nation had acknowledged the FC personnel’s impressive role in the fight against militants, he said, adding FC was a significant segment of the security forces owing to its vast experience in war on terrorism.

About law and order in the district, Brig Akbar said an exemplary peace had been restored in the region following the joint efforts of security forces and local people.

However, he said more efforts were needed to sustain the peace. The sector commander congratulated the recruits on completion of the training and said he was hopeful that their inclusion would enhance the FC’s capability.

Later, the recruits demonstrated march-past and received appreciation from the audience.
