KARACHI, June 27: The provincial anti-corruption court issued on Monday non-bailable warrants for the arrest of sacked provincial minister Imtiaz Shaikh and his brother Maqbool Shaikh in a land case. The court ordered the prosecution agency to arrest the two accused and produced them before the court on July 6.

The two brothers were booked for getting 1,600 acres in Scheme-33 in Malir allotted in their names through forged documents.

REMANDED: The judicial magistrate, East, Fateh Mubin, further remanded two suspects in Irfan Ullah Marfani murder case to police for investigation.

The judge gave suspects Azhar Hussain and Tehseen Nazli alias Shaista alias Saleha to the police till June 30.

Victim Marfani was kidnapped for ransom and his body was found on June 18 within the limits of Gulistan-i-Jauhar police.

Seeking further remand of the suspects, the investigation officer submitted before the court that the weapon used in the killing, a chain and tape used for gagging the victim had been seized on a lead on the two suspects.

Meanwhile, judicial magistrate, East, Ghulam Farooq Shaikh, remanded a worker of the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi to the jail custody after a police official identified him as one of those who shot and injured him.

Inspector Israr Ahmed identified accused Tehseen, who is also an accused in Madinatul Ilm incident, during an identification parade. The case was registered in 2004 by the Soldier Bazaar police.
