Double gold for Balochistan

KARACHI, June 26: Balochistan shooters ended the 12th National shooting championship in style striking double gold at the Naval Shooting Range on Sunday with Sardar Naseer setting a new mark in big bore pistol.

Naseer collected the gold by accumulating 167 out of 200 points, followed by Sindh’s Dr. Asadullah Hussaini at second and Abdul Hadi at the third spot.

Balochistan’s second gold came in free pistol event through Zahoor Hussain, who made 228/300. Dr Asad, again, was second with a difference of one point and Abdul Hadi and Asad Khan were joint third.

Dawood Jan claimed gold in air rifle collecting 574/600.

Results:

Big bore pistol (men): 1. Sardar Naseer 167/200, 2. Dr Asad Hussain 157/200, 3. Abdul Hadi 153/200.

Double trap (men): 1. Cdr Munir 119/150, 2. Khurram Inam 96/150, 3. Capt Aamir Army 92/150.

Free pistol (men): 1. Zahoor Hussain (Bal) 228/300, 2. Dr Adsaullah Hussain 227/300, 3. A Hadi 225/300, Asad Khan 225/300.

Air rifle (men): 1. Dawood Jan 574/600, 2. Firdous Khan 570/600, 3. M Hanif 546/600.

Air rifle (women): 1. Habira Yaqoob 472.6/500, 2. Nadia Saeed 469.3/500, 3. Nausheen Khan 468.2/500.

Junior skeet (U-16): 1. Hamza Amin 30/50, 2. Bilal M Khan 24/50, 3. Asif 20/50, Ali Faheem 20/50.—APP
