‘Faith healer’ rapes married woman

SHEIKHUPURA: A man claiming to be a ‘faith-healer’ raped a married woman who had four daughters and wanted to have a son in Mochianwala locality in the limits of Ferozewala police station on Sunday.

According to police, the woman who was married with four daughters used to visit the ‘faith-healer’ who would give her amulets “for birth of a son”.

The police said that on Sunday the woman went to the suspect’s outhouse as per routine. The fraudster offered her a syrup, spiked with some intoxicant, which she took.

As soon as she took the syrup she fell unconscious, after which the suspect subjected her to sexual assault and fled, the police added.

When the woman did not return home, her husband went to the suspect’s outhouse where he found her lying intoxicated. After regaining consciousness to some extent, the woman related her ordeal to her husband who reported the matter to Ferozewala police.

The police got the woman examined by a doctor who confirmed she had been raped.

The police registered a case against the suspect and were looking for him.

According to police, Moazzam (30) was standing near Taj Mahal Marriage Hall on Awais Karni Road, when two men on a bike came there and opened fire, killing him on the spot. The attackers then fled the scene.

B Division police have started investigation.
