KARACHI, June 25: The Edhi Foundation is planning construction of a musafir khana in the Iranian city of Mashhad. In this regard, the foundation has approached the Iranian Government through its Consulate General in Karachi to allot an amenity plot for the purpose. An Edhi Foundation spokesman said construction on the project would start as soon as a plot was allotted.

He recalled that when an earthquake had jolted the Bam City in Iran, the zaireens in Iran had appealed to Abdul Sattar Edhi and Begum Bilquees Edhi that they faced great difficulties due to unavailability of a musafir khana in Mashhad.

Mr Edhi had assured the zaireens that a musafir khana would be constructed as soon they get permission from the Iranian Government. — APP
