PTI’s 100 days

Published December 13, 2018

THIS refers to the letter ‘PTI’s 100 days’ (Dec 2). The prime minister and his team’s address at the Convention Hall also highlighted the measures and the steps which the PTI government has either already taken or has plans to take. These plans include how to overcome the existing economic crises.

Imran’s visit to Saudi Arabia for a quick solution of the crises, and to China and Malaysia for long-term benefits in the shape of enhancement of bilateral trade and other assistance, are some of the steps.

There are plans to persuade foreigners to invest in Pakistan, besides providing more incentives to exporters, discouraging importers of goods already produced here. These steps will result in more inflow of foreign currency in the country and to also provide job opportunities and result in positive balance of payment situation.

Imran Khan has also asked the people to concentrate on domestic and small scale economic activities as well for poverty alleviation.

Housing schemes are planned for the homeless. This will provide shelters to millions and employment opportunities will result in poverty alleviation. Even two million houses, if constructed during PTI’s regime, will be considered a great success.

For good governance, the politicians have been banned from interfering in the working of the agencies and departments. Executives, officials, and the bureaucrats have been instructed and being encouraged to deal on merit without any fear and influence.

Although Imran’s plate is full, he should have also touched upon judicial reform to provide quick and cheap justice.
