QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that without eliminating corruption and ensuring good governance people could not be facilitated and the provincial government is taking concrete steps to end the scourge of corruption from the province.

He expressed these views on the World Anti-Corruption Day which was observed in the province on Sunday.

Mr Alyani said that the Balochistan government had made Anti-Corruption Department and the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team functional to keep strict monitoring of the corrupt elements in the provincial government departments.

“We didn’t achieve major goals of the provincial development due to corruption.

“Unfortunately the menace of corruption has enveloped our society and lack of administration in all government departments has emboldened corrupt practices in the province,” he said. The chief minister appealed to the people to help the government purge the corrupt elements from society.

He urged media and influential members of society to play their role against the menace of corruption.
