KARACHI, June 24: A young couple were found dead in their car parked in their house in Kausar Town in Malir. Police said that Ayaz Ahmed Khan, 36, and his wife, Fahmida, 35, had decided to spend the night, between Thursday and Friday, in their air-conditioned car (AGA-853) as they had become sick of frequent power breakdowns that had turned the temperature inside their bedroom unbearable.

According to the police, accumulation of carbon monoxide emitting from the air-condition apparatus of the car seems to have caused their death. The AC system requires constant acceleration of the vehicle’s engine for proper air-conditioning. However, as the couple went asleep, this could not be done, they argued.

The bodies were shifted to the JPMC for postmortem examination.

It has been gathered that Ayaz Khan had returned home from Dubai some six months back. The couple, having got married about one year back, had no child, the police said.
