FC soldier martyred, two injured

DERA MURAD JAMALI: A soldier of the Frontier Corps (FC), Balochistan, was martyred and two others were injured in a landmine blast in Kohlu district on Wednesday.

Levies officials said the incident occurred near the Bahadur checkpoint in the Kahan area that the FC personnel were combing after receiving information militants had planted a landmine there.

The landmine went off when one of the soldiers stepped on it. “One soldier lost his life and two others suffered serious injuries in the blast,” a senior Levies official said, adding the injured were shifted to a government-run hospital.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Wahid while the injured were Badshah Khan and Wazir Khan.

Security sources launched a search operation after the incident for those behind the incident.
