KASUR: Khudian police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested three suspects who allegedly stripped a man naked and forced him to walk in the bazaar over a monetary dispute.

The suspects also detained the man at a shop at Khudian bazaar. A Khudian police party, headed by SHO Amjad Dogar, rescued the victim.

Police claimed that the SHO rescued the man and had nothing to do with the incident.

The FIR was lodged under various sections including 355 (assault or criminal force to any person intending to dishonour), 365 (kidnapping), and 392 (robbery) of PPC, on the complaint of victim Mukhtar Ahmed.

The FIR said butcher Munir Ahmed, his accomplices Kabeer and Nazir held Mukhtar at gunpoint when he was on his way to Mahmoodpura village from Khudian by his motorcycle. The complainant said the suspects tortured him, snatched cash worth Rs45,000 and later forced him to walk naked in Khudian bazaar, some half kilometer from the place of the incident. Suspect Munir, according to the FIR, detained him at a shop.

Later, Shafaqat Ali, nephew of the victim, called Rescue 15. A Khudian police party, led by, SHO Amjad Dogar, rescued him.

Suspect Munir is the close relative of a police official deputed at the office of DSP city circle.

DPO Dr. Shahzad Asif said SHO Dogar recovered the victim and had nothing to do with the incident. He, however, added that an inquiry was initiated against the relative of the suspect, a police official, to determine his role in the incident.
