TOBA TEK SINGH, June 22: A 25-foot breach in the Jhang branch canal inundated crops over hundreds of acres in the Nawan Lahore area on Wednesday morning. Irrigation employees and farmers plugged the breach after a hectic effort of six hours.
The farmers have blamed the Irrigation staff for not caring the banks of the canal which resulted in the occurrence of a breach.
The Irrigation executive engineer has ordered a probe to ascertain the cause of breach.
