HYDERABAD, June 22: The Hussainabad police obtained four- day remand of an advocate in the case of murder of a watchman of a project which is stated to be the property of the lawyer, police said. Sajid bin Wajid advocate was arrested after the family of the deceased, Syed Waqar Ali, suspected his involvement in the murder.

The remand was obtained from the court of Judicial Magistrate-I, Hyderabad. General Secretary of Hyderabad of the District Bar Association, Noorul Haque Qureshi, submitted an application before the Judicial Magistrate-I for removal of handcuffs of the accused while quoting rule 247 of the Jail Manual. The court ordered the police to act in accordance with the law. Syed Waqar Ali was hacked to death between the night of June 12 and 13 by unidentified people on Auto Bhan road. His brother Imran Ali had lodged the case against unknown people.

FATHERS DAY: Women Rights Association (WMA), organised a Father’s Day programme at the special prison, Nara on Wednesday, in collaboration with the National Programme for Family Planning and Primary Healthcare (NPFPP).

Special children and juvenile offenders participated in a speech and song contest.

The Project Director, NPFPP, Dr Qazi Mujtaba Kamal, president WMA Rafia Bangash, Superintendent Jail, Nusrat Mangan spoke on the occasion.
