PM Khan vows speedy, trouble-free provision of justice for citizens

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday vowed that all out efforts will be made to provide speedy and trouble-free access to justice to the people, particularly the weak segments of the society, as per the ruling party’s election manifesto, Radio Pakistan reported.

Chairing a meeting on legal reforms, the prime minister said it was the basic responsibility of the state to protect the rights of its citizens by mobilising all the state resources.

PM Khan issued special directives to ensure the basic rights of women, children and domestic servants. He was informed that modern technology solutions are being introduced to help courts in the dispensation of easy justice to the needy people.

Minister for Law and Justice Farogh Nasim said Whistleblower Protection and Vigilance Commission are being constituted for protection of those pinpointing corruption and other crimes, and to reward them properly. He said government servants will also be facilitated in seeking justice in their service matters.

As written in all textbooks of law, justice delayed is justice denied. However, in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the judicial system is so slow that it takes decades for civil and criminal cases to be adjudicated by courts. This must change. If the current P. T. I. administration in Islamabad can effect this big change by expediting dispensing of justice by the Pakistani courts, that will be great.

At what price? The justice system is in doldrums owing to other factors as well as high costs involved. It should also be brought down to acceptable levels for the common people.

People are suffering due to late decision in their cases. Lahore Development Authority is black mailing owners of properties and poor people cases are stuck in courts for no reason. I am sure this must be the case in other development authorities and cities. Civil cases are pending in courts for years. How Farogh Naseem will expedite resolution of these cases. Supreme Court bound the NAB in Panama cases to resolve the cases in such time.Why can't court time bound civil judiciary to resolve the cases in given time?I have seen on the hearing date parties come to court to mark their attendances and get fresh date of hearing. This practice must be stopped and every case must be time bound.

The biggest problem is faced by overseas Pak their land & properties mostly grabbed by their own relatives. Plz make some trustworthy law, their land & properties be kept by government as amanat, in absence.

Make the law to severely punish false accuser and false witnesses and have them pay for the false cases,put them in jail,have them pay both parties attorney and legal fees/costs plus fine and more than half of cases will vanish.
