QUETTA: Three personnel of the paramilitary Frontier Corps Balochistan were martyred and four others injured in a roadside bomb blast in the Margat coalmine area, some 45km east of here, on Sunday.

Official sources said that the personnel were escorting a vehicle carrying rations for soldiers who were deployed in the area to beef up security. They said an improvised explosive device was detonated by remote control when the FC vehicle passed by.

They said three FC personnel lost their lives on the spot. Four others were injured and were rushed to the Combined Military Hospital in Quetta.

Confirming the incident, a spokesperson for the Frontier Corps said that all the injured were out of danger.

Soon after receiving information about the incident, a large number of security personnel reached the area.

Meanwhile, the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Geand Baloch, a spokesperson for the BLA, claimed that five FC men were killed in the attack.
