KARAK: The councillors of Karak tehsil have said that they will elect new nazim as Peshawar High Court Bannu bench has vacated the stay order against removal of former tehsil nazim Abdul Wahab.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, tehsil naib nazim Haji Jehanzeb and councillors Maulana Ismail Haqqani and Maulana Basheer Yousaf said that following vacation of the stay of former tehsil nazim after his removal from the office through vote of no-confidence, new tehsil nazim would be elected to get the funds released by provincial government.

They said that development funds of the tehsil had been stopped by the provincial government for more than two years owing confrontation between former nazim Abdul Wahab and councillors.

The councillors said that residents of the tehsil suffered owing to lack of funds. They said that about six months ago, the nazim was removed through no-confidence motion but he moved court and got stay order. They said that the court vacated the stay so they were making preparations for election of new tehsil nazim.
