LAKKI MARWAT: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two persons a month after they had assaulted a teenage boy in Shah Hasankhel village of Lakki Marwat district.

An official said on Oct 14, Saeed Rehman and Nazeer, residents of Shah Hasankhel village, had assaulted a 15-year-old student named Irfanullah and had since been at large. The victim had told police that he had gone to a nearby mountain to bring fodder for cattle where both the men caught hold of him and assaulted him.

The official said the police had booked both the accused under section 377 of PPC and sections of Child Protection Act on the complaint of the victim.

He said on a tip-off a party of Lakki Marwat police station headed by SHO Gul Mohammad raided a suspected hideout in the village and arrested both the wanted men.

Separately, a man was killed by his rivals over a property dispute in Michenkhel area of the Lakki city, police said on Tuesday.

They said Hafiz Ikramullah and Sanaullah, residents of Eesakkhel village, were waiting for a vehicle when their rivals came on a motorcycle and one of them opened fire on Sanaullah, killing him instantly.

Ikramullah, who survived the attack, told police that he along with his brother, Sanaullah, were waiting for a vehicle at a bus stand when Abdul Qadoos and Attiqur Rehman suddenly appeared on a bike. He said on the orders of Qadoos, his brother Attiq fired at Sanullah with a repeater gun, killing him on the spot. Police have registered a case.
