LAHORE, June 19: The Lahore Summer Meeting scheduled to be held at the Racecourse on Sunday was postponed for a day due to the demise of a steward of the Lahore Race Club, Mir Ikram Mahmood.

The races will now be held on Monday. The card of seven races will remain the same and the first race will be held at 1.30pm, the LRC secretary, Ata Ali Khan said.

Mir Ikram died of heart attack early Sunday morning. He was 72.

He had been a racing fan since he was a college student in Lahore. His interest in races soon grew into love for horses, which led him to own a string of fine pedigreed race horses.

He made a mark when his horses started winning classic races except the Pakistan Derby.
