ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) on Thursday announced that its institutions would remain closed on Friday. The Private School Association also extended the closure of their institutions for another day.

Sources in the FDE said in a number of schools the attendance remained very thin on Thursday. In some institutions, students reached the schools only to know that there was no educational activity. They said because of the unofficial closure of some schools, the parents had to face difficulty in picking their children.

Spokesman for the education ministry Rafiq Tahir announced that all educational institutions under the administrative control of the FDE would remain closed on Friday. Meanwhile, the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) announced that Pakistan Studies’ paper scheduled for Friday across the country had been postponed.
