Pakistan beat Australia by 33 runs for Twenty20 clean sweep

Pakistan downed Australia by 33 runs in the third and final Twenty20 international in Dubai to register a 3-0 whitewash on Sunday.

Pakistan made 150-5 in their 20 overs with Babar Azam (50), Sahibzada Farhan (39) and Mohammad Hafeez (32 not out) their main run scorers.

For Australia Mitchell Marsh took 6-2 in his only over.

In reply, Australia were bowled out for 117 in 19.1 overs, with Ben McDermott and Mitchell Marsh scoring 21 each. Spinner Shadab Khan took 3-19.

Pakistan, who won the first match by 66 runs in Abu Dhabi followed by 11 run victory in the second in Dubai, had rested opener Fakhar Zaman and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, bringing in Sahibzada Farhan and Usman Shinwari.

Australia brought in off-spinner Nathan Lyon in place of seamer Billy Stanlake.

Pakistan struggling with a finisher. Umar Akmal is required at 5-6. Ideally this is best available t20 side. 1- Fakhar 2- Farhan 3- Babar 4- Malik 5- Sarfaraz 6- Umar Akmal 7- Imad 8- Fahim 9- Shadab 10- Hassan 11- Afridi Hussain Talat should be discarded.. I think he would be ideal in Odis.

Congrats to Sarfraz and the players + team management Bowlers won us the series. Batting is not quite top notch and needs improvement. scores of 150+/- are modest by T20 standards and will not be defendable on most other grounds. Must look to score in the region of 170-180 in order to give the bowlers a fair chance. Can't expect Babar and Fakhar to score runs all the time. Others need to take responsibility too. Hafeez and Malik were okish. Asif Ali has been given enough chances imo but so far he has failed to come up with consistent performances This is the 30th time Pakistan have bowled an opposition out in T20Is! THE most by any international side

@Pak_UK While I agree we might need some work around the middle order batting we do not need Umar Akmal. Pakistan team is performing well without any of the Akmal brothers and their drama. Overall, well played pakistan. I was not in favor of having Imad start the bowling, we needed to change our strategy so that we are not predictable. Excellent batting Babar, Farhan and Hafeez. Having options for an opener is a good problem to have. Thank you for resting a couple of our players. Sarfraz haters pakistan won so not a good idea to critise Sarfraz because he did not bat. Rest boyz, New Zealand will provide a much stiffer competition. Thank you for entertaining us.

Our bowling and fielding deserve full credit although a few sitters were still dropped. Drastic improvement is required in batting as they could have easily got passed 160 in the 3rd match.

Very good overall result....however warning signs....batting still weak heavily reliant on 1 or two individuals...if Babar had failed, Pak would have lost. New players like Farhan who made runs and Asif don’t seem to have the quality! Sorry techniques are very questionable. Still need proper batsmen in the side. Sarfraz refuses to bat...I can’t understand! He is no Viv Richards or Kholi to turn down batting. Look at Kholi is cant get enough! Sarfraz is scared to fail, in my opinion, NZ will test Pakistan Sarfraz better but then!

Umar Akmal is history.... Pakistan is doing well in T20. They should work on their spin department as it shambles at times. Hasan Ali has lost his sharpness. Emad needs to work on his batting and his ability to turn the ball as well. Sarfaraz needs to come-up the order as he lacks fire power as a hitter. Hafeez should rather drop down as 5-6 basher and all-rounder. Shoaib Malik should come at 4. Fakhir Zaman should open with Babar... Sahibzada Farhan lacks technique as off whatever I have seen him play..
