ISLAMABAD, June 18: Pakistan and Bahrain will sign the draft convention for the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income between the two countries by end of the current month.

An official in the CBR told Dawn on Saturday that the treaty would be signed during the forthcoming visit of the prime minister of Bahrain to Pakistan in the last week of the current month.

Officials of the two countries had already initialled the draft convention in 2000.

The convention between the two countries would augment the already existing trade and economic relations between the two countries and open new avenues to the best interests of business communities of the contracting states.
