LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has expressed his resolve to promote cultural activities and revive famous horse and cattle show as well as traditional festivals across the province.

He suggested that known personalities belonging to art and culture should be made brand ambassadors in Clean and Green Pakistan campaign as well.

The chief minister has in this regard started consulting provincial cultural committee members to promote cultural activities in the province.

The cultural committee members led by socialite Yousaf Salahuddin called on the chief minister here on Wednesday and presented different proposals for the protection of heritage and culture of Punjab.

The chief minister assured them of resolving problems, saying the Punjab government would provide every possible assistance for the promotion of art and culture and the artists be given their due rights. He said the support and promotion of artists would help promote soft national image.

The chief minister said different opportunities would be provided to the artists belonging to southern Punjab and other far-flung areas. He also said the role of information and culture department was pivotal for promotion of cultural activities and arts councils would be made fully active to achieve the goal.

Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, spokesman to chief minister Dr Shahbaz Gill, PTI’s women assembly members and famous personalities like Amjad Islam Amjad, Syed Noor, Shan, Munazza Hashmi, Vasay Chaudhry, Jan Rambo, Shahida Mini, Humaira Arshad and Anjuman Begum were also present on the occasion.
