Fawad Chaudhry advises Zardari to 'focus on meeting his lawyers instead of politicians'

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday spoke up against PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari for calling upon opposition parties to "unite and present a motion against the government's failure".

In a tweet posted on his personal Twitter account, Chaudhry advised the former president to "focus on meeting his lawyers instead of meeting politicians".

He added that the former president will realise the importance of this "free advice" within days.

"Governments cannot be toppled by tabling resolutions, you need votes for that. All Zardari sahib has now are [currency] notes. He has lost his votes in his quest to earn notes," said Chaudhry.

In the past week, Zardari — who is nominated in a case regarding illegal money transfers through fake bank accounts — has met with JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman and planned meetings with other opposition leaders "in order to decide the future course of action".

Late last week, he declared that the new government is incapable of running the country, and urged opposition parties to take a principle-based stand against the "incompetent" administration.

Fawad is right. Zardari and other are trying to make a futile attempt to topple the government so that they can control NAB, FIA and other agencies as they had done in the past or as once Zardari bragged that NAB has no strength even to touch him let alone arrest him. Now time has changed and NAB is becoming stronger day by day. Thanks to CJ and IK efforts

These are not good tactics to engage politicians in case after initial failure in running the government. There should be a fair trial and political activities should continue rather the honorable minister suggest politicians to worry about their cases. Was it a threat?

Zardari is a big time conman and corrupt to the bone. The investigation started in 2015 and still continuing. He blames PML-N govt for initiating the cases against him. During his govt, he took bribes and commissions on govt projects in cash. He started the scheme to deposit the money in fictitious bank accounts and transferred the funds to overseas accounts. I fail to understand why the investigation is taking too long and why the courts allow him to be out on bail. I don,t think he is going to cooperate with the investigation. Now he is trying to put up a joint response of all opposition parties to dislodge the govt. The reason incompetent govt. which is ridiculous looking at his background and edcucation.
