LAHORE: The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department claimed on Monday to have foiled a terrorism plan by arresting three alleged members of banned militant outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Toba Tek Singh, recovering explosives and illegal weapons from them.

According to a spokesperson, the CTD personnel were informed about the presence of TTP militants with arms and explosives near Toba-Gojra bypass road.

A CTD team raided the spot and arrested three alleged militants who were later identified as Muhammad Luqman, Imran Shakir and Abul Razzaq.

The raiding team recovered from their possession 4,800 gram explosive material, safety fuses and three detonators which were used to make an IED (improvised explosive device).

During interrogation, the suspects revealed their plan to attack personnel and offices of a law enforcement agency in TT Singh.
