KOHAT, Jan 10: Nazimeen, Naib Nazimeen and women councillors staged a walkout from Kohat District Council to protest against the transfer of District Education Officer (DEO) Qamar Zaman Shinwari and non-compliance of the resolution adopted a few days ago in this regard.

The protestors threatened that they would not attend the session until the cancellation of the DEO’s transfer orders. After the walkout the speaker adjourned the session for indefinite period.

Urban-5 Nazim Dr. Matiullah Shah on a point of order expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the tehsil municipal officer and secretary of the district assembly, Dildar Danish. Many members supported the objection after which the speaker suspended the secretary with immediate effect.

Council secretary remained under constant criticism by the members throughout the session which forced the convener to take the action against the said officer.
