DERA MURAD JAMALI: Five people — two women among them — were shot dead allegedly for honour on Tuesday.

Armed men opened indiscriminate fire after barging into a house in Haibat Khan area of Tambo tehsil in Nasirabad district early in the morning, killing the five people on the spot, police said.

District Police Office (DPO) Javed Shah Ghirsheen and other police personnel moved the bodies to the District Hospital Dera Murad Jamali.

“All five deceased suffered multiple gunshot wounds, which caused their instant death,” hospital officials said.

“The case involves honour killing,” DPO Ghirsheen said, adding that the assailants escaped from the scene after killing the five people.

Those killed were identified as Irshada Bibi, Lila, Hameedullah, Manzoor Ahmed and Rahimdad.

Raids were being conducted to arrest the killers though no one was arrested.
