IT’s flip side

Published October 12, 2018

IN today’s digitally-driven world, technology has equal disadvantages as well. Too much screen time in pre-school and schoolgoing students has adversely affected the overall thinking abilities of our youngsters. Furthermore, kids have become tethered to the digital devices.

Consequently, access to inappropriate content, lack of physical activities and addiction to surfing for hours together are common problems that need special attention. On the other hand, it is also important to be a tech-savvy mind but not at the expense of healthy outdoor activities and the sense of real world family and friends.

It is the responsibility of parents to set the limitations on screen timing for their children. Randomly browsing different things at the same time on the internet reduces concentration span/ focus abilities of teenagers.

Owing to an excessive use of gadgets and e-books, schoolgoing students lack the proper writing structure and commit more spelling mistakes in their writing. It is important that there should be a balanced approach to technology vs the real world joys.

Tech-free time in today’s busy life is essential for feeling the essence of real world beauty.
