PESHAWAR, Jan 10: The Director of law ministry, Syed Akhtar Munir Bacha, has said the establishment of a research development section for the city police is needed to meet the requirements of the people.

The suggestion came under discussion during the proposed police reforms on Thursday. The meeting was attended among others by the DIG, Khurshid Alam Khan, representatives of judiciary, human rights organizations and newsmen.

The meeting urged that in order to meet the needs of present-day and to successful the police reforms a success the research section should be established on scientific lines.

Syed Akhtar Bacha asked the lawyers, journalists and intellectuals to help the police department and make the reforms successful.—PPI
