TV cartoons

Published October 3, 2018

A FEW decades ago, cartoons for children on TV channels were a real form of entertainment. Children would not only get amused but also learn moral values, customs and etiquettes from those cartoons.

Nowadays, cartoons shown on our TV channels are opposite to our culture and norms. These cartoons are destroying our norms and language, forcing our children to drift away from our culture.

In the past, cartoons played an important role in character building. Today, cartoons influence children psychologically by creating depression and anxiety.

I am a speech and language pathologist, and many children visit my clinic with speech and language issues created by these cartoons.

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority should take action against foreign cartoons and promote cartoons which portray our culture, customs, norms, values and language.
