DERA GHAZI KHAN: For the first time a jeep rally was held in Rujhan Mazari tehsil of Rajanpur district, some 150km from here, in which 20 drivers participated with their vehicles.

The rally having a 60km-long track was held on Arabic mound near Khalifa Airport.

It was organised by a local Moazzam Khan Mazari.

The first position in 1600cc vehicles category was won by Burik Rind who was driving vehicle with registration number plate MN 6062, while the second prize was grabbed by Gul Shah (D.F 4412).

In the 1300cc vehicles category, Mahmeed Esani clinched the first position. Rajanpur tribal area Political Assistant Mohammed Yousif gave away the prizes to the winners.

Talking to the media, the event organiser Moazzam Khan Mazari said the rally would made an annual feature of the remote tribal area to promote healthy supports activities there.

He said the event was a success which was a good omen for the people of an area that had earlier been in the grip of gangs of outlaws.
