Angela Merkel calls for extending cooperation with Pakistan

German Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel on Monday expressed the desire to expand cooperation with Pakistan in diverse fields and work together on issues of mutual interest at the regional and global levels, Radio Pakistan reported.
In a felicitating telephone call to Prime Minister Imran Khan on his election as the prime minister of Pakistan, Merkel emphasised the importance of deepening bilateral relations.
PM Khan expressed the desire for further enhancing bilateral relations with Germany into a mutually beneficial, broad-based and long-term partnership.
The premier mentioned that Germany was the largest trading partner of Pakistan in Europe and there was a substantial potential for cooperation in the spheres of energy and automobile sectors, and investment in hydroelectric power generation.
The prime minister also briefed the German Chancellor on the regional situation, especially the importance of a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan and relations with India.
He underscored the need for resumption of comprehensive dialogue with India to address all outstanding issues.
Chancellor Merkel extended an invitation to Imran Khan to visit Germany at his earliest convenience, which the premier graciously accepted.

It will be good for Pakistan to establish deeper relations with European countries, such as Germany and not depend on any one country. Scandinavian countries are especially advanced in medicine and transportation based on clean ecosystems. It will be good to stay away from polluting industries now, and not worry about clean up later. Above all, no need to get into mega projects that will be burdensome financially or environmentally later. Buy only what we need and not what the others want to sell at high profits, such as coal powered plant in Sahiwal on most fertile land.That power plant is a classic example of Stupidity+greed. Gep Pakistan.

There are several thousands if not millions of Pakistani lives in German. German are great scientist, engineers and has excellent code of conduct. It is a great news and I believe Pakistan definitely is short of skilled people and I don't know from where Pakistan will fined skilled labor. Apprenticeship is a best pathways to train our man-power with Germans.

Pak & Germany enjoys close fraternal strong friendship, German autos like Mercedes,BMW, VW, are favorite of our elite, while high tech conglomerates like Siemens, Bosch, and many others provide high value precision machinery for industrial growth & development. Textiles Rice, Cotton products are exported to Germany in great figures. A great number of Pak origins men,women,and families live in Germany, after immigration, German nationality is hard to acquire, it’s only awarded to spouse of German, with many conditions like fluency in German, with 8 years stay in Germany. Besides Pakistani seeking a German Passport had to surrender or relinquish his nationality to Islamabad. There are very few nations with which Germany allows dual nationality. There’s a need for bilateral agreement for dual nationality allowance between Germany & Pak, which can be helpful to further the trade & travel between the two friendly nations.

A very positive gesture from Dr Markel to extend cooperation with Pakistan in diverse field. As security situation has improved in Pakistan, govt should make the most of this positive gesture and persuade Germany to invest heavily in the energy and other sectors.
Germany is a great nation and its reconstruction and economic recovery after the second world are great success stories. America's technological advances after the second world war owe a lot to Germany.

This is a positive development, lets hope we can strengthen trade and cultural ties of friendship with Germany and other nations.This shows there is increasing recognition that the people of Pakistan are a very positive people heading in the right direction. There are many problems in our nation but nothing we cannot fix with patience and hard work. Previous govts only lined their own pockets, but the new govt has given nation hope and foreign partners can see this too, which is why they are considering trade ties. We will be back on our feet if we stayed focused.

Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapur and Scandanavian countries. These are some of the those countries which are unique in their approaches in the sphere of science, technology, education, human development and other. There is a reason German engineering is unmatched to this day. Their education system must be such that Germans in general grow up to be highly disciplined. Their attention to detail shows up in their engineering. Similarly for other countries mentioned above.
Pakistan should develop and enhance cooperation with these countries in order to learn from them.
