HYDERABAD, June 14: Residents of Goth Qadan Shoro, Kotri Site, have accused police of highhandedness against villagers and appealed to authorities to order an inquiry into the arrest of an innocent youth of the village. Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Tuesday, Mohammad Urs Shoro, Mohammad Mithal Shoro and Abdul Majeed Shoro alleged that police had fired upon villager Arshad in a fake encounter a few days ago and had later implicated him in a false robbery case.

They alleged that the Kotri police had raided their village on four occasions and arrested three youths, Soomar, Abbas and Yaseen without any charge.

They also accused police of misbehaving with women and taking away ornaments and two goats.

They appealed to the Sindh chief minister, home secretary, Sindh IGP and the Hyderabad RPO to order an inquiry into the alleged police excesses.

LUMHS: The controller of examinations of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences on Saturday announced the schedule of first professional MBBS (part-II) bi-annual theory examinations of 2005.

The examinations will be held from June 27 to 29 at the LUMHS, Jamshoro, Chandka Medical College, Larkana, and the People’s Medical College for Girls, Nawabshah.

The third professional BDS annual examinations will be from July 2 to 9.
