PESHAWAR: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday transferred 21 senior officers, including administrative secretaries and directors general.

The reshuffle, which was expected in the first few days of the current setup, took several weeks as the provincial government dithered on appointments. A notification issued here said that secretary administration department Mohammad Saleem (PAS, BS-21) had been transferred and posted as secretary energy and power department.

Provincial Inspection Team (PIT) chairman Farrakh Sair (PCS, BS-21) has been directed to report to the establishment department, while Zafar Iqbal (PCS, BS-21), who was awaiting posting, has been posted as secretary science and information technology.

Energy and power department secretary Syed Zafar Ali (PAS, BS-20) has also been asked to report to the establishment department.

Secretary agriculture department Mohammad Akbar Khan (PCS, BS-20) has been transferred and posted as PIT chairman, and secretary mines department Syed Mohammad Shah (PCS, BS-20) directed to report to the establishment department.

Chief Executive Officer of Fata Development Authority Syed Alamgir Shah (PCS, BS-20) has been transferred and posted as secretary mines department, and secretary environment department Zakir Hussain Afridi (PCS, BS-20) transferred and posted as KP Textbook Board chairman.

Director Staff Training Institute Mukhtiar Ahmed (PCS, BS-20) has been transferred and posted as secretary Elementary and Secondary Education Department, while special secretary education was relieved of the additional charge.

Mohammad Abid Majeed (PCS, BS-20), who was awaiting posting, has been transferred and posted as secretary excise and taxation department, and chairman KP Textbook Board Dawood Khan (PCS, BS-20) transferred and posted as secretary irrigation department.

Usman Yaqoob (SG, BS-20) awaiting posting has been posted as secretary industries KP, and Manzoor Ahmed (PCS, BS-20), special secretary higher education, elevated to the seat of the secretary higher education department.

Special secretary home department Imtaiz Ayub (PCS, BS-19) has been transferred and posted as secretary administration department and Tahir Orakzai (PCS, BS-19) posted as director general KP Revenue Authority.

DG KPRA Mohammad Nasir Khan (BS-19 excise and taxation) has been directed to report to his parent department. Secretary Relief and Rehabilitation Zulfiqar Ali Shah has been directed to report to the administration department, while secretary ST&IT Qaiser Alam (BS-19) was appointed secretary information department on deputation basis.

Dr Asad Ali Khan (BS-19 P&D cadre), who was awaiting posting, has been posted as secretary relief while additional secretary Zakat and Usher Department Muntazir Khan (PCS, BS-19) was transferred and posted as director general mines and mineral directorate.

According to the notification, principal secretary to the chief minister, Mohammad Israr (PCS, BS-19), has been given additional charge of the secretary agriculture department.
