PESHAWAR: The leaders of Pakistan People’s Party have asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to prove his tall claims about bringing positive change in the fate of poor.

In their separate statements, PPP provincial president Mohammad Humayun Khan and Peshawar division president Liaquat Shabab also expressed serious concerns over the failure of government to control price hike.

They said that Imran Khan was basically a cricket player, who did not know about basics of politics. They said that as an opposition leader, he had always made tall claims to change lives of the people after coming into powers but he failed to do so.

The PPP leaders said that people would not wait for long and would start agitation after few months if the rulers did not take effective steps for bringing a positive change in their lives. They said that people were cursing the government for increase in prices of petroleum products, electricity, fertiliser and natural gas.

They appreciated the PPP leadership for rendering sacrifices of lives to secure rights of poor and strengthen democracy in the country. They said personal ego was nothing in politics and the PTI leadership would have to show flexibility towards the opposition parties otherwise it would be unable to run the government.

The PPP leaders demanded early completion of the Bus Rapid Transit project to bring an end to the miseries of the citizens of Peshawar as they suffered owing to traffic hurdles.

They said that using abusive language against political rivals was easy as the PTI leaders always did it but they were unable to adopt revolutionary policies for facilitating the people.

They said that Imran Khan had started collecting donations but it was not a single hospital to be run with support of philanthropists. They said that he would face public wrath if core issues were not resolved.

The PPP leader urged the government to reverse its decisions regarding increase in prices of the petroleum products, natural gas and electricity as those affected the people directly.
