BUNER: Higher Education Secretary Manzoor Ahmed has said that staff and facilities will be provided to Government Girls Degree College Hashamsar Daggar.

He visited the college to look into the issue of admission to BS programme. About 750 students have been deprived of higher education due to limited seats in the college.

MNA Sher Kbar Khan, MPA Fakhar Jehan and Deputy Commissioner Sahfiullah accompanied the secretary, who held meeting with the college staff and get himself apprised about the situation.

The secretary also held meeting with the admission committee members, parents of students and elected representatives. He noted their recommendations and suggestions. Talking on the occasion, Mr Ahmed said that government was committed to providing quality education to all. He said increase in seats and accommodation in educational institutions was a priorities y of the government.

He directed the quarters concerned to take steps to improve the situation. He also directed the officials to find long term solution to issue admission to the college. The secretary said that staff and facilities would be provided to the college to benefit students. He said that the issues of inclusion of more subjects in the BS programme and accommodation at the college would be addressed in the next session. The college administration and district authorities will take steps to facilitate students and the elected members will also help them to resolve their problems.
