LAHORE: The Punjab government directed on Thursday 19 officers of the School Education Department to monitor enrolment campaigns, security measures and tree plantation campaign in their districts of the province.

The Punjab government launched the School Enrolment Campaign 2018 in April to impart quality education and to promote learning.

The Punjab Chief Minister’s Monitoring Force for School Education Department issued a notification which stated the designated officers would visit their districts on Saturday in each district until October 31 in connection with the enrolment campaign, security measures and the Tree Plantation Campaign-2018.

Additional Secretary (General) Sajad Tirmizi will monitor Rawalpindi, Additional Secretary (B&P) Safina Siddique Kasur and Lahore, Additional Secretary (ER) Abdul Rehman Shah Layyah and Khanewal, Additional Secretary (DEA) Gujrat, DPI (SE) Mumtaz Hussain Shah Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh and Jhang, Additional DPI (SE) Mushtaq Ahmed Sial Multan, Muzaffargarh and Dera Ghazi Khan, CMMF Director (monitoring) Rana Abdul Qayyum Sargodha and Khushab, Deputy Secretary (E&D) Aftab Karim Vehari and Pakpattan, Deputy Secretary (B&P) Mukhtar Ahmad Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur, Deputy Secretary (Admin) Irtaza Naqvi Attock and Chakwal, Deputy Secretary (SE) Shahid Pervaiz Qureshi Gujranwala, Deputy Secretary (ER) Mian Asif Majeed Jhelum and Chiniot, Deputy Secretary (EE) Mirza Ikramul Haq Sheikhupura, Deputy Secretary (Acad) Muhammad Farooq Sialkot and Narowal, Deputy Secretary (General) Mohsin Sohail Nankana Sahib, Director (Admin) Afzal Gill Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Lodhran, Director (Admin) Madam Rubina Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin, Director (B&P) Zulfiqar Ali Sahiwal and Okara and Director (PIMA) Muhammad Shahzad Mianwali and Bhakkar.

The officers were directed to get progress regarding achievement of targets of the enrolment, security measures for public and private schools and progress on the tree plantation campaign, 2018. The officers were also directed to submit reports of their respective districts till Oct 31.

In 2017, the Punjab government could not achieve public schools’ enrolment target of 600,000 students.
