KARACHI: The Sindh Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved 37 schemes worth Rs36.88 billion across various sectors for the current fiscal year.

The PDWP in its meeting held on Friday with Planning and Development Board Chairman Muhammad Waseem in the chair, approved one scheme in Board of Revenue, 13 schemes in the health sector including the establishment of gastroenterology and neuropsychiatry unit at National Institute of Child Health Karachi worth Rs192.788 million and establishment of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto 100-bed hospital near Jungle Shah Keamari Town, Karachi.

PDWP also approved 18 schemes worth Rs35bn to establish English-medium schools across all districts of Sindh, in addition to projects worth Rs1.33bn to establish public schools in the province.

Furthermore, three schemes were approved under Sindh Technical Educational and Vocational Authority which include establishment of vocational training centres at Kashmore worth Rs 110.345m, whereas, one scheme was approved for Planning Department and one for the Minorities Affairs.

The chair stressed all administrative secretaries to ensure timely completion of respective schemes with required quality.
