KARACHI: Eight horses will battle it out for honours in the prestigious Defence Day Cup when it takes place in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

The cup race, which is also day’s feature event, combined scale order I, II, III and IV, will be contested over six furlongs round bend. It is the last race of a competitive five-race card in which 31 horses, barring last-minute withdrawal, will be seen in action.

The first two races will go over four furlongs while the remaining two will be contested over four-and-a-half furlongs. It is the last race of a five-race card that has been drawn for the day.

Meanwhile, the first race starts at 2.30pm.
