KUWAIT CITY, June 11: Kuwait in a major anti-drug operation has arrested two Pakistanis and recovered from their possession 35 kgs of unprocessed heroin worth a million Kuwaiti Dinar. Colonel Sheikh Ahmad Al Abdullah Al Sabah disclosed at a news conference that personnel from the anti-drug department had monitored the movements of the gang since the start of the operation in the “country of origin”. He said the drug traffickers were arrested while they were trying to enter Kuwait from a neighbouring country.

“The drug traffickers have been trying to use Kuwait as transit station and regional hub for distributing drugs” Col Ahmad said.

The seized drugs consist of pure heroin, Col Ahmad added.

The two Pakistanis confessed that they were working under the command of notorious leading drug traffickers. They said they had brought in the drugs via border checkpoints in stages.
