LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau Lahore has recovered Rs164 million from officials involved in corrupt practices and returned to their respective departments.

NAB Lahore Director Amjad Majeed Aulakh on Thursday handed over cheques amounting to Rs82.9m to the representative of Punjab chief secretary, Rs7.6m to the Lahore Development Authority, Rs3m to Gujranwala Irrigation Employees Cooperative Housing Society, Rs20m to the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), Rs16.4m to the National Fertilizers Marketing Limited, Rs14.6m to the Collector Preventive Lahore, Rs9.5m to the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC), Rs2.8m to Bank Al-Falah Private Limited and Rs58,000 to the National Bank of Pakistan.

Amjad Majid said complaints against private housing societies for illegal sale of plots and other irregularities had increased manifolds.

He said the NAB was working hard to address all such complaints. He said the NAB would recover looted money from the corrupt elements.
