MURREE: Tension has gripped Darya Galli as police failed to arrest the killers of three people even after the passage of about two weeks.

For the last about three days, houses of the five alleged killers have been found burnt mysteriously in separate incidents during night times.

Local people said houses of Mohammad Ibrahim at Khudri Dhoke, Shaukat Abbasi at Narreela, Fazal Rahim known as Chottoo, the main suspect; Imran Abbasi and Mukhtaz Abbasi at Narreela were set on fire by unknown people.

When contacted, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Saifullah Bhatti expressed ignorance about the fire incidents. He said police had already arrested eight suspects in the triple murder case.

Three young people, including a passerby girl, were shot dead at Darya Gali reportedly over a land dispute on Aug 18.

Raza Abbasi, a local, told Dawn that it was the most tragic incident in the history of the peaceful village.

Waqar Abbasi, another resident of the village, said police should arrest the suspects otherwise there was a likelihood of law and order issue in the area.

When contacted, SHO Murree Ali Abbasi said he visited the area but it was not clear if the houses were damaged in fires caused by short circuiting or torched by someone.

He said one of the suspects in the triple murder case, Mohammad Asif, had obtained a protective bail from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and efforts were being made for the arrest of Fazal Rahim and others.
