ISLAMABAD: Two persons were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Rawat on Saturday.

A group of people was coming to Rawalpindi in a pickup from Kallar Syedan for work when a mini-truck hit them from behind at T. Chowk, police said. As a result, Abdul Qayyum, Mohammad Tariq, Dil Khurram and Anjumul Hassan sustained injuries.

The driver of the mini-truck escaped.

The injured were shifted to hospital where Abdul Qayyum and Mohammad Tariq were pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, four armed men raided the house of Syed Asad Shah Gilani at Bahria Town Phase III and looted Rs700,000 and 135 tola gold ornaments and other valuables.

Four robbers looted Rs14,000 and 12 tola gold from the house of Zarar Ahmed Butt located at PWD Colony.

The robbers also looted cash and gold ornaments from the house of his tenants.

Burglars broke into the house of an army officer in F-10 and made off with Rs40,000, gold ornaments wroth Rs15,000 and laptops worth Rs150,000, said the police.
