PESHAWAR: The administration of the Agriculture University Peshawar on Tuesday suspended an official for torturing a student on Monday.

A statement issued here said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan had taken notice of the incident and directed officials to take action.

Acting on his direction, the varsity suspended the admin officer Mr Abid.

Earlier on Monday, a video shared on social media showed several people dragging and kicking a student at the university campus.

Acting Governor Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani had also taken notice of the video and directed officials to investigate it. The tortured person was identified as Adnan, a student of the third year at the university.
